Linux - Fedora vs Ubuntu

Last time I checked neither of them had a decent package management system. The integrity of the packages is far more important than its mirror/repo/what ever.

Fedora 12 is not bad, but I prefer to use Ubuntu 10.04.

+ it's local downloads. Handy when Seacom goes down.

I could start a new thread, but I have a newbie question:

Currently I have a desktop at home used 90% as a media sharing server (for WD TV live in lounge), 9% browsing and 1% other stuff. Win Vista on in constantly crashes sharing service and I need to reboot.

I've tried running red hat on it before but my attempt at installing a video driver crashed the desktop constantly so in my frustration I gave it up. Is Ubuntu more user friendly and can it run a media sharing service my WD TV live media player will connect to?

Perfect timing. Been getting a Segmentation error everytime that I use apt to install, update or remove apps, and there doesn't seem to be a proper fix for it on the net other than a reinstall.

So I decided Fedora 13 is going to be raplacing Mint 9 on my desktop tonight, and then I checked MyBB and they have this article. How's that for the universe trying to tell me something? =)
