Linux from Africa

What is wrong with running Pastel using Windows?
Its what it was designed to run on afterall.

I don't understand why you have such an issue with Linux, were you molested by Torvalds as a child or something?

Linux runs a lot of software designed for Windows through an emulator, big deal. The software runs and that is all that matters.

Why do you have to run something on Windows just because it was designed to be run on Windows? Seems pretty narrow-minded to me. All operating systems have something going for them, if they didn't then they wouldn't exist. I'm sorry that Linux is too difficult for you and that you need a company to complain to when something doesn't work. Obviously MySQL isn't an option, it doesn't have a large company attached to it... I mean... it's not like MySQL AB is a Sun Microsystems subsidiary or anything

I have no problem with Linus git Torvalds, he did a fair job pirating Unix just as M$ and Apple did with Xerox.

My problem is the linux freetards spending their time making different distro each with a different mixture of nuts, seeds and other healthy crap. They are wasting time on making their beloved OS do the same as Windows instead of just changing it to run windows applications natively.

Apart from Windows (which I hare but use) I only have respect for ReactOS. I use linux (in a VM) but for the real stuff I rely on Windows. It is not that I want to complain to MS when something does not work, but being a partner and with them willing to help where they can I think you gain a lot more shooting yourself in the foot with initial offset cost. That is freetard.

I used to use Windows in a VM (for a short while) but for the real stuff I rely on Linux. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

When you say things like "Linux should this.... and Linux should that....", do you know how arrogant it sounds. Many people use Linux *because* it is different from Windows.

Why is this an issue to you?

Why should you care how free individuals spend their free time doing stuff they like doing?

I don't go shouting at you how you should be arranging your garden.
If they're wasting their free and unpaid for time then surely that's their own problems? Why make it yours?
Or do you pay some kind of Open Source development tax that gives you the right to spell out demands?

If you really think Linux should be X then why don't you stop trolling forums and instead pull up your socks, break out your favourite editor and start fixing code. No one is stopping you from doing that.

I don't care what you respect and don't respect I'm merely saying that as long as an OS works for someone and does what they need it to do then great for them, +1 if it is free.

As long as you don't need to run the Windows programs that neither run on Wine nor have native linux versions then great for you, you get on with life without having to fork out for Windows. Don't worry though, the minute I need to run UT3 () I'll buy Vista or Windows7 OK.
