Whats your views on the Linux LPIC certification? Especially vs Linux+ Certification?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't done Linux+ but LPIC is good to have. Cheap to get too, but you have to know the work well, because it's multiple choice - no practical.

My opinion both as a linux techie as well as an employer:

LPI is a much more respected certification in the industry. There are some heavyweights behind LPI (IBM, etc), and it covers ALOT more ground, as there are three levels LPI1 to LPI3

Linux+ used to be very hardware orientated, but I understand newer cirriculums have done away with the hardware stuff, and focus more on the OS.

Being LPI level 3 certified means you know your stuff, almost ensuring you guru status :) Almost, becuase you still need some real-world xp

Last time I checked it was about R18k. I would love to get certified but eish, the cellphoned just dominated me with a R1k streak. So currently im eating worms from the garden to survive, let alone soup.

I did it several years ago. I may have the price wrong, I see they now say it's $155 per exam. That's still cheap for the certification, if you self-study.

it is about R18k if you do it through a college they charge like R4000 a week i wanna do self study but trying to find an examination centre
