Hi guys. I have been using Ubuntu now for two years about and am now on Ubutnu 9.04. I ordered my Linux Mint 7 CD yesterday and am very keen to try it. The reason why I want to try it is because it supposedly comes with all your codecs for multimedia playback etc already installed etc and also, it looks nicer comapared to Ubuntu.

My question is this....seeing that it is based on Ubuntu, does this mean that my 3G modem and my NVidia graphics card will will work the same as it does on Ubuntu currently? What feedback can you guys give me on Mint? You like it?

Yes your 3G and Nvidia drivers will work in Linux mint....

I'm using Linux Mint at the moment for work and watching movies...
Linux Mint really lekker OS

I've been using ubuntu myself for a while.

looked at mint only briefly but it looks good. Menu will take some getting used to for me though.

i may consider giving it a try some time. Be interested to hear what mint users like about it over ubuntu.

Yup, I use mint, and as far as I can tell it is Ubuntu with extras. It even uses the Ubuntu repo's. I prefer the default menu on mint, multimedia codecs, it has thunderbird instead of evolution by default, gnome games are missing which I never play...
And I think it looks better than Ubuntu.
