List of congested exchanges?

My main issue with congested exchanges unless you lay a complaint through ICASA about Telkom, they will take forever to get upgraded/fix. Also why we still have to pay for ADSL lines that are connecting to congested exchanges and making Internet experience completely unusable. Aint there something there to protect the consumer from something like this, very unfair.

Just got verified today from Telkom that FLORIN exchange in Roodepoort is now congested after going down last week Sunday, not sure how that happened.

Ironically, Franginpani 2 in Randpark Ridge also died on a Sunday, two weeks ago, and has been messed up since then. Strangest thing ever is that I get 180k/s constantly on p2p, but browsing and online gaming is completely borked. How is that possible?

diegoa, Wilgeheuwel is not too far from me, so I wonder if our problems are related?

Yup same issue, probably was fibre or something that the 2 DLSAM's share together that went down and now is fooked :(

Telkom has an network fault for this area that you can use: 3ARK091110. Probably good to check if you exchange/dslam is also linked to this network fault as well :)

Which ISP you using?

Have you logged a fault with them?

They told me that it was a power failure that damaged a cable or something. Lots of round-about explanations that amounted to nothing really. Something broke and now the exchange that was perfect two weeks ago is so congested that I can't browse the net at all. Who knows?

I had a ticket that was linked to the network fault but when they resolved that fault, they closed my ticket. So I had to open a new one...

Last feedback I got was that the Frangipani 2 exchange was due for an upgrade and that they've prioritised it to be done within the next two weeks - probably because of the fact that I threw my toys out the cot BIGTIME. Or at least that's what I'd like to think :)

So now we wait.

I'm with MWEB.

Im connected to Kensington (RKSD) and 3 weeks ago the DSLAM died. Had no connectivity for about a day but since it came back ive been experiencing the kind of latencies described here. Very high all day and then tapering off towards midnight. Ive reported it as a fault but apparently its still under investigation.

Any1 else connected to that exchange feeling the same thing?

Got similar story from them today, not sure how this effected 2 exchanges that had no congestion previously and all of a sudden since this "incident", they are now congested........

Smells like BS to me.

Has anyone successfully not paid for their ADSL service while their exchange has been congested?

Got my line installed last week Friday, only to discover that the service is completely unusable...luckily Telkom don't have my banking details yet so I'm going to refuse to pay for the install or service until its working as it should.

My line is with WebAfrica and I have been able to ask them to stop payment due to heavy congestion or faulty line.

Any one on the panarama johanesburg exchange? I've been getting horrible speeds lately.

Last year Rosettenville RJRV was very congested - 0.2Mbps on a 4Mbps line

Can anyone advise if Rosettenville exchange is still congested / has been upgraded?

http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/exchange/RJRV

Thanks in advance.
I tried phoning 10210, and according to 10210, there are no "free ports" in RJRV.
I guess means it's not been upgraded.

I'll keep Cell-C for another year.
