List of congested exchanges?

Telkom does not respond on HelloPeter afik?
So that might explain why so few people make use of that option?

I Posted my complaint regarding congestion on the Crestholme exchange in Waterfall on Hello peter. 5 days ago our exchange was fixed/upgraded etc. They did reply the same day as my HelloPeter complaint. Perhaps i was just one of the lucky ones.

Ah good to know then.

I know bro, but with the minority of the exchange (us) only complaining odds are telkom won't see this as important. Wish our exchange users would also complain :/ maybe then we could actually get somewhere.

I check hellopeter everyday hoping there are more complaints, i see there's another one today. That makes about 7 in total since october, not enough i don't think. However i think most of them are from guys on mybb.

The technician that came to my house was actually interested in the problem. He went back and got hold of the higher ups and explained what the problem was.
I got a phone call yesterday from him confirming that the La Lucia DSLAM 6 that I am on is congested and they are going to fix it. I will let you guys know if anything more comes out of this.

If you can please phone Telkom until you can get them to admit the problem.
Mention that its happened after the 1MB to 2MB ADSL line upgrades during peak times and that the latency problems are with many different ADSL accounts including SAIX ADSL accounts.

sup buddy you are 031562?

I logged a fault on Monday hopefully they also look at that.

Do all the same area codes go on one DSLAM? Like if i'm 031 572 could i also be on the same DSLAM as you? if not then all of them are probably congested :(

Alternate is 572 aswell (he mentioned it in the pages before) so you it's good news for you :)

Ahh found it thanks. Let's hope it fixes the 562's as well. IF they actually do fix it in our lifetime.

2 Days ago i actually thought they may have fixed it cos my pings were good all the way till 11pm. Unfortunately the next day they were back to ****.

I've checked and I see Telkom does respond, so I've followed this route.
I reported a fault via SMS as I was really not in the mood for "Please switch off the router..."

I posted on HelloPeter immediately after that.

From here on, I will try my best to have the ticket stay open at Telkom and respond as often as I'm allowed on HelloPeter, till something positive happens with the line.(Hopefully).

PARADISE VALLEY (NPDV02) Exchange in Pinetown, Dbn is congested from 5pm to about 11pm. Its a flyer, but anyone else see this?

Westmead exchange, Pinetown. Always fast 7-8MB, 21ms local ping. BUT...only when thunder storms don't cause down time...over a long weekend

Lovely lady technician Sipiwe got it all sorted.

Any Joy so far here?

Not really. A technician came out and found a problem inside one of the phone jacks, but it did not improve anything afic see.
Latency still terrible and speed is still not what it should be. All my faults have been closed it seems, but I will complain again as soon as I have the time.

Hey guys,

Those of you on the La Lucia, Durban exchange... Is your ADSL Line behaving?
My speedtests & pings are dismal and online gaming is impossible.

I have tried 3 different ISP accounts on different backbones, same result.

It can only be the line....

Are you guys ok, or is it just my line and not the overall exchange?

I was moved to another DSLAM inside the exchange but at night and during peak times my line is still congested.

They have amended some charges on my Telkom bill for the problems and Telkom still keeps phoning me every 3 weeks to check if it is fixed. So they must hopefully be busy doing something to fix the problem.

The Telkom Technician was just at my place, he got the specialist on the line and that bloke said that La Lucia exchange is NOT congested - now or before at any stage.

Honest advice I was given?
You should move back to Durban North as close to the exchange as possible.

I'm on it.....

Anyone in Scottburgh, KZN also having crappy speeds lately? Pretty sure it's congested as my speeds have been up and down all the time.... I have a 4mbps line, but it often drops to 2mb, then 3mb... Now it's its 4mbps again, but still, its very unreliable at the moment...
