Its effectively 80mm on my camera... right?
Schneider-Kreuznach 90 3.5 preset
SMC Pentax 18-55 II 3.5-5.8 kit lens
Which body are you shooting with?
Most of these are old M42 lenses but fun to use and give excellent results.
They can be used on any body with the correct adapters even canon.
The Zenitar,SMC Pentax II 18-55, Tamron AF 70-300 4-5.6 are bayonet lenses.
I had the first generation 18-55 - I was very impressed with it. Aside from the kit-lens level barrel distortion, it's hard to beat for the money.
You're talking about a macro lens, which is a fixed focal length. The IQ doesn't change as you focus. The people that dis Sigma lenses are normally referring to zoom lenses.@ marine1, so you are not finding the 105 soft when it is extended to it's max? everything that i have read about sigma is that your photos get soft at the most extended point of a sigma lens. also have you ever tried it with kenko tubes, if so what kind of working distance are you getting with them?
i must say that after what you said the 105 is looking more tempting. the manual thing does not bother me, i am an old 35mm film user and i find myself using the manual focus more than i do the auto focus with my d60, i feel that i have more control over my photos in manual than in auto focus.
I've taken some stunning pics with it, but it's a dog to get it to focus properly - almost useless for people, you miss shots like this:What's the 18-125 like? It doesn't do too well on the photozone review, but then, sample variation seems to be common on the lower end.

Next thread - What is your bag - yours must be a suitcase if the 50-500 fits in it!You're talking about a macro lens, which is a fixed focal length. The IQ doesn't change as you focus. The people that dis Sigma lenses are normally referring to zoom lenses.
