Load-shedding break for the "long weekend"

Pretty much the case all over jhb, just have a look at the twitter feed for citypower.

It's a good day if you just have loadshedding, a moderate one if power comes back within 2 hours of loadshedding but most of the time you're lucky if you at least get some electricity in a 24 hour period.
Why do you guys love making your problem everyone's problem? If you don't have water, all of Joburg does not have water, if you don't have power, all of Johannesburg does not have power?

What's up with that?

Load-shedding break for the "long weekend"

Eskom will suspend load-shedding from 05:00 on Thursday, 21 March 2024, due to an expected decrease in electricity demand heading into the weekend, coupled with an increase in available generating capacity.

The rotational power cuts will be dropped from 05:00 on Thursday until further notice.

Residential doesn't use anywhere near as much as industry.
During the first 3 months of lockdown demand was down to Xmas levels everyday.
