Load shedding schedule - do you understand it?

moderloos - i'd say 95%+ of the time. sometimes the power comes back before the scheduled time. not overy often though.

if it doesn't work, or you goes into a vicious cycle, then the Public Protector might be interested.

I'm so sick and tired of this kuk, I just want to kick some fat cat in the @$$ with a steel-capped boot.

Except it dont work.
I go to citypower, click on the link and it sends me BACK to poweralert web site.
Its a vicious circle.

I agree with Moederloos...If i take the first brown block as stage 1, and its in the middle, its schedule 2....that is if they split the blocks in 3...

Another thing...This schedules???...oh boy....Its being LOVED by the criminals..."Tonight....no lights....between 8 and 10...Lets hit Checkers!"

those loading shedding schedules never work. I've logged on during a load shed and checked. It says my area is supposed to be load shed later, but I don't have power now. So what's the point of the schedules?

You see, Eskom is smarter than we think. They're actually protecting us by publishing incorrect schedules :p

Boy... I think I'd be much happier if my area wasnt' in the damn list. I don't get the power levels graph as well. Fourways & Sandton... getting nailed daily at least twice a day but sometimes more.

Except we get loadshedded too - we just never know when.
Being off the list does not mean you are exempt ;)

If you're in pretoria, get your load schedding schedules here

http://www.tshwane.gov.za/interruptions.cfm

Each municipality is doing their own load schedding, so no point in trying to figure Eskom's schedules out. I would wager those Eskom schedules is only useful for the municipalites/power stations themselves, not the actual suburbs.

The only thing the Eskom site is useful for , is on the front page [bottom right corner]. It basically shows the total shortage ..if it's in the red then you can assume the municipal schedule will stand. If there's no shortage, then the power might not go off.

Would be nice if Tshwane kept to those lists...

I was watching it and there was no load shedding scheduled for the day....

10:30ish it went tits up... i looked on the site at about 12ish, and saw schedules and the suburb I'm working in was only supposed to go down from 8 - 10.... so go figure

Eskom website now ways:

NO LOAD SHEDDING IN PROGRESS
Stage 2

Notice the "NO" and "Stage 2"

Have I lost all ability to reason, or does that make no sense?

Yup. The City of Cape Town has our new load shedding schedule, except that the disclaimers are basically:

1) Power might not be off for the whole 2.5 hours
2) Power might not go off at all during the 2.5 hours
3) Power might go off at any other time as well
4) It might take a lot longer than 2.5 hours to bring power back, since nasty criminals are stealing our copper when the power goes down

But they're advertising the schedule to "help people plan around the outages".

At least you have one.
City Power in Roodepoort sends you back to PowerAlert, which sends you back to City Power.....
