Load shedding solution assistance

Anyone here have the 1200W Ellie's trolley?
Is it normal that this thing buzzes like a mofo when running on the batteries?

Once they seem charged, there is only a slight buzzing

That is correct - that is the pure sine wave type. Alternative (cheaper) is here:
https://www.geewiz.co.za/mecer-inve...ine-wave-solar-invertercharger-600w-mppt.html

Once you put a TV in the mix, you need to go up to something like this:
https://www.geewiz.co.za/long-run-u...5ah-battery-4-hour-battery-life-kit-720w.html

If you go for the pure sine, you can run everything off there as it has up to 3000W

Do you also need a Pure Sine Wave unit for the fridge, or will one of the mobile units you suggested work?

Please can you guys assist as I am dumb when it comes to this stuff?

I am looking at buying an inverter. We have 4.5 hour load shedding slots at a time.

I would like to run:
4 x lamps
Wifi router
Fan
TV (1 definitely, 2 possibly)
Charge some phones
Charge/use my laptop

An all in one solution would be great as I don't know how to do wiring etc.

Thanks in advance.

How much time is there between the LS slots?

Inverter + Batteries

You can also look at Pure Sine Inverters at a higher cost.

I don't know this company:

https://www.maidenelectronics.co.za/All-Inverters-Only

Thank you.

Ranges from 6 hours to 11 hours between LS slots.

Quick question - will the fan run alright on the 8hour life kit from Geewiz? On their site, it says not to run anything with a motor. But then again, it is just an el cheapo fan so not too worried if it does konk in.

EDIT: Do you know of any all in one pure sine wave kits or possibly recommend someone who can put one together?

I am looking at buying an inverter. We have 4.5 hour load shedding slots at a time.

I would like to run:
4 x lamps = 44W
Wifi router = 15W
Fan = 60W
TV (1 definitely, 2 possibly) = 120W
Charge some phones = 20W
Charge/use my laptop = 60W

Total draw = 319W (1 TV) or 439W (2 TV's)
x 4.5hours = 1436W (1TV) or 1976W (2 TV's)

And you need at least double the battery power (50% Depth of Discharge).

So that's: 2871Wh or at 12V = 240ah (1 TV) or 330ah (2 TV's)

So you need at least 2 x 120ah batteries.

I won't run anything with a motor. You can probably run it, the motor will just get hot.

Maybe try these guys for pure sine cabinet: http://smartpowersystems.co.za/
If you do contact them, let me know what they ask for their cabinets.

Also ask on the powerforum.co.za.

The problem is though, with the hourse getting fewer between slots the batteries won't charge quick enough (for two batteries used at 50% you look at 8-10 hours on 10A).

This modified sine inverter from Geewiz has a 20A charger (also 10A) which will charge faster than the 10A chargers and is also compatible with the Mecer Solar Charger they supply. I am not sure how it effects the battery life. Mine is currently set on 10A, but if the hours get less between slots I will switch over to 20A.

Also consider getting a Solar Charger and Solar Panels. But I think there are more qualified guys to answer these questions. =)

Nah, I'm on my phone at the moment. Will join in the morning.

I've got everything that I bought from GeeWiz still standing in the garage. Still trying to scrape together some cash to get someone to install the schit
I actually meant Geewiz (cause you said they already a member) must join the conversation then.
