Load-shedding will continue: minister

Working in retail . . . . the power outages aren't that bad except when the work wifi dies and I'm forced to use my data

This morning on the news in PE they said no more load shedding.

Heard the same driving to work. Yet, power was off this morning when I left the house. That is on top of the load shedding we had last night for 2 or 3 hours.

Last press release by Eskom was that they don't expect it, and they're cautiously optimistic. They also say that they will know better later if it will be necessary.
Personally, I'm just going to assume it's going to happen. I just assume everything that is said by Eskom or local municipalities is a complete thumb suck.

Just spoke to an Eskom person and seems most of the Cape will get 'shafted' between 10 to 12:30 today. Apparently been confirmed with the local municipalities but will depend on the load at that stage. So just a warning, also heard on news that nothing is expected for today.

Candles, #ProudlyBroughtByANC

There will also be a tender to supply candles to Nkandla. Bet SANRAL is exempt though.

Really? Strange, they've announced that they shouldn't need to load shed today at all.

Maybe just a standing instruction from yesterday but as said, he said that they were ready to flip the switch if need be at that time and apparently it has been confirmed that it will be flipped.

I will however not base my future plans on this persons predictions so do not sweat it until 10am :D

If that were true then it makes a mockery of the Eskom load-shedding information site at: http://loadshedding.eskom.co.za/

The load shedding we had in my town / suburb yesterday was spot on the published schedule I downloaded from the above site, i.e. from 10h00 - 12h30.
There is no load-shedding in my town/suburb scheduled for today, and the next load-shedding is scheduled for this coming Saturday from 10h00 - 12h30

It will be interesting to see how accurate the published schedules will be. I'm going to monitor this.

Which schedule are you looking at? For Cape Town, you need to look at the City of Cape Town schedule rather than Eskom's (I assume some other municipalities are the same).

What annoys me is that they keep saying they're loadshedding in a fair way, but my suburb is always scheduled for 18:00 to 20:30 slot! Surely if you were being fair, you'd rotate the slots between the various areas.

My town gets power from Eskom, not a local municipality. I live in a very small dorp in the WC, 200kms from Cape Town

typical mentality these clowns have that it isnt a problem yet so why bother maintaining, stockpile (dry coal), do anything and yet they still get these massive bonuses for what? wake up Malusi Gigaba get off your fat comfy ass and start working
