My Protocol stays on forced seems that didnt help i also recieved one.

The way they catch you , is they simply connect to that torrent... when you are in session with the torrent's Tracker, you are able to see who is connected to your PC to exchange pieces of the torrent. You are able to see IP, if they are encrypted, quality of their torrent, how much they are uploading to you and how much they are downloading from you, plus a whole bunch more.

I would think Sony happy with the state of affairs in SA: at R70 a GB I can get 6 DVD's out for the price of one crappy VHS-quality DL. In the US, Canada, UK etc where there are no caps (or large caps) and fast line speeds is where you'll find most of these horrid, disgusting, vile individuals pillaging and raping Sony's catalogue. Ooh, the shame and guilt.

i will never ever support any big record label, their music sucks, and so is their court tactics, by buying out judges and changing laws with money. and justifying fines in the millions for copying a R150 rand album - if you stole that amount in cash, the worst you'd get is a night in prison and bail fine of R1000. what's so special about their stuff?
Then, why is it illegal to make a COPY of something? there is nothing to steal is the first place. if you copied someones car atom by atom and reassembled it, would it be stealing? you've made a COPY! for crying out loud.
Selling copied stuff yes, that's stealing profit. COPYING IS NOT STEALING!
all the good stuff is indie anyway. if you support an artist, rather personally send them the money, or visit their live shows. they'd actually see some of it then...the last time i bought a cd, or dvd is a few years ago anyway.... it's a medium from the nineties.

To be downloading a torrent is not breaking the law, I have downloaded a so called iso for a Linux distribution and when opening it it was a blue movie in iso format. What is illegal is being in possession of the software and actually using it. No one can accuse you because you have 120 Meg of a 3 gig installation, firstly it is not complete and you do not have full knowledge of what ever that file will or will not contain until the download is fully completed, only then can you make a choise what to do with the download. A torrent is like a box of chocolates.........
I can rename any torrent file to read "grannies recipes" and have it sending what ever my twisted mind wishes.

If companies like Sony, BMG and whoever else, supplies a file for downloading and then catches a person downloading it, wouldn't they actually be breaking copyright laws themselves? Kinda like fishing? Just wondering...

Someone please explain PeerGuardian to me in plain English?
I usually use NewsServers for anything I need but on occasion have used uTorrent. How do I use PeerGuardian to protect myself in the case of the latter? Does it affect any other internet traffic/use or is it limited to the torrent programme you are using?

No matter from which angle you look at it, it is a waste of time.
Downloading movies and stuff will continue in some other form if this is quelched.
How many sources have been closed and new ones keep on popping up. When will the creators of content realise that they have to change their distribution habits to become cheaper and more in line with consumer needs.
They are generating tons of resentment amongst media consumers. What for?
