I too am looking for an external voice/fax/data modem that supports CLI.thisgeek said:Anybody know of any locally available external analogue serial/usb modems that support telskum's caller id?
thisgeek said:No, the modem itself should support caller id - ie, when the phone rings, the modem (via software) displays caller id.
For eg, if you have a terminal connection to the modem, and the phone rings, usually you would see the ring indicator, like so:
Code:RING RING RING ...
However with caller id, you would see:
Code:RING DATE = xxxxx TIME = xxxx NMBR = xxxxxxxxx NAME = xxxxxxxx RING ...
I need one that supports the local caller id in use here (ETSI) like most screen phones do.
I've got an oldish USR 56k modem, which doesn't support it -however apparently a lot of sportsters do support it. Just my luck.
I emailed Duxbury support last night to find out if theirs do. Just have to wait for a response.

thisgeek said:* And I already pay for the caller ID service.
