Just a question I have a 3 gig telkom all access account etc... which correct me if I am wrong entitles me to 30 gigs worth of local content.

But how does it work do I Use my international cap first then only local?

Or if i download from local sites does it get logged as local?

Your 3 gig's is known as blended (basically it combines international and local) once you have used your 3 gig's. Then you can start to use your 30 gig's of local bandwith. Until you cap your 3 gig's everything is logged as blended

So does that mean if I hit 3 gigs using local/international my international gets capped?

and all i'm left with is local?

Not exactly, you can get up to 6 gigs of international on it.

As a TelkomInternet subscriber you have access to our unique threshold management service. This service operates as follows: should you exceed your initial individual service threshold, as above, you will automatically be transferred into our collective threshold option. This will enable you to stay online until such time that the average usage for all our subscribers reaches the collective service threshold.

Then the local only 30 gigs kicks in.

Check your usage here:

Think i need to get me a local only account then

You actually get more for your money if you get a 1GB or 2GB account from Telkom, in addition to your main account, and basically just ignore the international bandwidth that comes with it.

SAIX local-only accounts aren't cheap. IS ones are, but there are various reasons for why SAIX local is better than IS... If you don't care about using the news server, then get IS.
