Only major issue I have with working from home is that I have grown to absolutely despise my otherwise very comfortable office chair. Which makes chilling with a game or something in the evening challenging.
I've stopped playing on the PC, as my office is my study :( after work I just want to be away from it now.
I even changed the room in July last year to try give me a change up. Now back to the same feelings.

We have been working from home since the first lockdown was put in place. I have noticed that my drinking and eating habits is starting to get out of control to the point where I am seriously thinking about going back to my office.

Who else has this problem?
Have been back since 1 Sept 2020.
I miss day drinking

I've kept my work and play PC's in separate rooms. So when I knock off I close the 'office' door.
Also lost weight. My wife used to pack me a lunch daily, now I have to feed myself.
Drinking isn't a big problem, I'll have a beer or 2 after 3pm , but nothing major.

I spent a fair bit of money on an office chair recently.
Im in a permanent work from home position and I generally do some gaming at night, so I spend many hours in the chair.

I wish I had done it sooner, its made a big difference.

I got a better chair, the previous one was a cheapie of R800, the new one was R2400 and the difference is like night and day.
Sure not like some of the really fancy chairs out there, but it's so much better.
At first I was like this is hurting my butt, but now other chairs feel wrong.

When I started working extremely long hours and starting the business on the side line I also got a new chair. I can nou easily sit for 8-12 hours a day and have zero back pain and very little fatigue. In fact, in general my back has improved overall. Definitely worth the investment long term.

One thing I am really trying to get back into is exercising during the work week. I used to take the dog for a walk every day at lunch time. But that period became unpredictable with work and meetings and and. I'm considering taking the dog for a walk first thing in the morning, followed by a quick workout of some sorts and then start my usual morning routine.

I should also pay more attention to my diet; I just have no idea where to start with that.

My WHF situation won't change for the foreseeable future either. I might be going to the office once a week or so, from April, maybe.

Let's chat privately, I am no trainer or dietician but can give you a few pointers based on my experience.

A handful of disciplines have been key for me.
-Still wake up at 5 even if beating the traffic is no longer required.
-Take a lunch break. Away from the desk.
-Switch off at closing time. 12 hour days aren’t necessary.
-No take-outs. An hour lunch break is more than enough time to prep something.
-Set exercise time.

Sticking to those basics keep me on course and even if I encounter a bit of a storm along the way as long as I get back into those disciplines I’m back on course.
Discipline beats motivation most days.

Chose to go back to the office a few weeks ago. Best thing ever for my sanity getting out the house during the day. The novelty of working from home wore off very quickly near the end of last year.

Which is key, if you go chaotic then things tends to fall apart. My work knows when it is time for GFH it is time for gym from home and they can go fly a kite. Otherwise you never switch off and you never get to exercise.

Have not worked since March last year. Starting to suspect I may be jobless. Still find there is not enough time in a day though.

A decent office chair is worth the money. I too had a cheapie, which was for for a few hours. But when I started WFH - that cheapie was horrible. The new chair, was like 3k and feels a lot better. Sitting in the old chair feels so wrong now.
