Hi,

Are any South African Logitech Harmony Remote users having problems logging into their accounts either via the website or through the Harmony Remote Software application. Similarly, are any of you able to access your accounts without problems?

Please post comments and setup info (software versions/browers used/nature of problems/successes etc) as I have been unable to login for about 4 or 5 days now and am wanting to find out if I am alone or there are others.

Thanks

Session time out

I'm having exactly the same problem and I also live in South Africa.

When I use the Software on my ADSL connection at home (MWEB) I receive the "session time out" error, but when I connect from my Office (corporate LAN through SAIX) I am able to use the software. I got it up and running at the Office, but now I need to fine tune the remote and I can't very well take my TV and PVR to the Office to test the settings.

Even the website www.harmonyremote.com (User Login) also gives the same "session time out" error on my ADSL (at the Office it works fine).

If it is indeed a South African Internet issue, then it is either assigned to MWEB / ADSL / Router settings, don't you think?
- Is there not a specific port that needs to be opened?

My setup:

* IBM T41 Laptop
* 1024 MB Memory
* Windows XP SP2 (Firewall disabled)
* AVG Anti Virus
* Internet Explorer 7

Had the same problem last night using Firefox, Camino, Safari, and Opera - NOTHING worked. :o This is through SAIX.

I haven't had to change the setup for mine for a while but have had problems in the past trying to log in. Best to check the Logitech web boards to see if there is a problem.

I just tested the software over my dial-up connection... Through dial-up it works 100% (it's just slow). I can access and change my settings and even the website option at www.harmonyremote.com works 100% (both MWEB and Telkom dial-ups work 100%). It must be something with the South African ADSL...

Have you got a url for their boards?

oops

Forgot to mention....do not use a SA proxy...it does not work..
try an australian one...they are usually the fastest.
example

165.228.131.10 on port 3128

PS you can still leave you web browser without a proxy for faster surfing...

don't know why but for some reason I just cant make it work any more.

I tried 165.228.131.10 on port 3128

i'm with webafrica any other ideas?

I now officially hate my Harmony thanks to logitech's dysfunctional site.

I believe though that Telkom is once again a part of the problem here. The web site works 100% at work on sentech.

Oh wait - its the beginning of the month and my IS account is uncapped internationally. Think I'll give it another shot.

Logitech Harmony problems over MWeb ADSL

Hi guys;

Same problem here.
I bought my Harmony 688 about 2 years ago and reprogrammed it a few times without problems. Sometime over the last 6 months or so, something got broken.

I now get the same "Session Timeout" error when trying to access the programming site directly or via the remote's software (v7.3.2) using my MWeb/Telkom ADSL connection. Can't get access at all.

The proxy solution doesn't seem to work for me - I battle to find one that works, apart from which they all seem to be hoplessly overloaded and paaaaaiiiiinfully slow

I can get in perfectly by disabling my ADSL connection and connecting via dial-up.

I've sent a support request to MWeb, but I'm not really hopeful.

Any new theories on this one ?

I can only update mine in the beginning of the month when my IS account isnt capped locally. :o
