Logitech MX Master 4 - The worst mouse I've ever experienced

Trying the MX Ergo S Trackball.

Wowwweeeeeees!

My muscle memory is super confused, but man, it feels amazing. The buttons are super gentle. And the middle button works as it should. It also doesn't have that weird endless scrolling thing of the MX 4.

Day-and-night difference, and ergonomically 100 times better than the MX 4.

Gonna give it a day or two to see if I can adjust to the different way of scrolling. Currently, I am like a drunk in a Catholic Church walking down the aisle.
Give it a week, and then do a write-up?
The MX Ergo S Trackball is on my top list. The only thing is I need a left-handed one, that specific one is the wrong way around for me.

Saw them left handed in reviews. I guess more difficult to find locally. Not sure if it was the S or previous addition only.

Yeah, my eternal battle for a well-fitted left-handed mouse continues. Forced to use the basic, simple symmetrical mouse, and if I do find a good left-handed mouse, it is usually x5 the price of the right-handed one. Right-handed racists.

This particular one is Bluetooth AND Bolt. PN 910-006559, which as seen on the side of the box supports both (and includes the Bolt receiver).

Why are the bolt dongles so expensive on their own, around R500 last I checked?

I use an old MX Anywhere mouse that just refuses to die, I needed an ambidextrous mouse with lots of buttons and that hyper scroll feature and it works great, also fits really nicely in my hand despite me having quite large hands.
I can't use anything else, the MX master is awesome but right hand only.

Happy with my Logitech G602. In daily use since July 2019 and still perfect. See if you can find old stock.

Using one at the moment and except for the charging issue I am comfortable :)
Yeah i have no issues with it. As regards charging its a wireless mouse so i don't want to use it with a cable, hence i don't mind it being unusable in the short time it takes to charge.
However, comfortability wise I will give the award to MX Masters (3 and 4) they're hands down insanely comfortable and easy to use and they work so well. I only buy them for home and work.

So you have the MX4 ?

Only with the ball.
How does that feel?
I've been eyeing out those for a while now but I’m afraid of getting some kind of carpal tunnel syndrome in my thumb due to over use. At least with a normal mouse I can just switch hands if the one gets over used.

It is very different, but not in a bad way. I am still trying to get used to it. I will have to give it the week to see if I can make the adjustment.

I've read about the carpal tunnel thing, but it doesn't really use much effort on the thumb. I am also using Raw Accel for the mouse acceleration and sensitivity and it works surprisingly well with little effort. That said, I also play finger guitar and my thumb does a lot more weird stuff on the guitar.

Currently my muscles are all confused so it is actually my neck and shoulders that are tensing up,! My body wants to move something but there is nothing to move! The mouse is extremely comfortable. And you can adjust the angle.

I'll give more detailed input after I tried it for a while, but so far I am fighting with the middle mouse click again!!!! The middle mouse click works great, but it also has a left and right click on the wheel and I keep on clicking those as well together with the middle mouse which confuses my software! I'll make some adjustments though and see how it goes. Logi Options+ makes it possible to configure each button as you please and also can assign different keys for each program.

Also Logitech Action Rings makes it possible to move very little as everything is where the mouse is:

Alternatively you can also use something like Kando:

And if you want to breeze through large documents there is also

Some very cool apps mentioned there, thanks I’m going to check them out.

it also has a left and right click on the wheel
I forgot to mention my Mx Anywhere mouse has that and it’s one of its best features, they removed it on the later versions of the Mx Anywhere. I assigned it to alt-tab and shift alt-tab to be able to quickly switch between browser tabs, I’d be lost without that feature it's a game changer.

Bleh.

I have this one and I will never go back to a normal mouse.

This is the one I am currently trying. I've run into a bug with the mouse. The Easy Switch randomly activates when I middle mouse click. So the Easy Switch button is not accidently pressed. If I switch it off and on again it is okay for a while and then it does it again. Similar issue here on reddit:

Not sure if you are on windows or mac. But on windows make sure to switch off Enhanced Pointer Precision when using Raw Accel as you are basically replacing that function.

Smooth Scroll is available for both Windows and Mac.
