Hello all. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but it's worth a shot.

I'm currently looking into buying a long-range RFID reader with a minimum distance of 3 meters. I was wondering if anyone would be able to assist with links/suggestions to some decent readers.

I have done my own research and most websites I come across don't indicate the price of the readers. I'll get in touch with those companies but I did want to check here as well to see if I could find any good links or suggestions from people who've bought or used this tech.

Use Case: This is more of a hobby project. I want to be able to detect when an RFID tag passes through a door so I can do a few things. I've also thought about using Bluetooth proximity detection but Bluetooth tags are way pricier and there are other small complications that make the RFID solution a bit better. But I'm also happy to take suggestions in that regard.

Could you elaborate?

Sorry it's not possible to steal people's credit card info from 3m away with any affordable machine or DIY solution yet. You're stuck with 1m range RFID readers and ESPKeys/BLEKeys like every other self respecting card fraudster for now.
