Long service awards.

In the software industry having worked somewhere for more than 10 years is almost always a bad sign...

Was just wondering if people still work for companies that long. My longest is 3.5yrs and thinking 5 would be insane.

At my workplace, you used to get a Kruger Rand at 20 years.
At 15 years, half a Kruger Rand.
Not sure about 10 and 25.

Oh yes.... we get extra leave days too.

Got a nice framed certificate for 5 years, Dinner with the CEO, R500.00 game voucher.That was back in 2006 however, they likely changed the reward for that now.

actually not that reason at all.
The company was doing extremely well and then sold to the highest bidder... A much bigger company who did not want an office in SA.

lol, I don't even understand why the companies waste time and money on this. They could have rather given me the money of the frame at least I would have received something useful.

We can't even put the frame up against the wall due to policies. :crylaugh:

When I used to work for Investec, the rewards were along the lines of:

5 years: 1/2 Kruger Rand
10 Years: Kruger Rand
10+ was money and additional share options if I remember correctly.
