They dont fscking think, full stop. I cannot get my head around the demands of these people. It really really REALLY infuriates me!!!
I have qualifications and basically run an entire dept and dont even earn that. It's always about hand outs and ridiculous fscking demands.

So basically, I think they have zero reason to be striking, they've got it pretty dam well I think. But of course, they want 12.5k AFTER all deductions
Sad thing is Lonmin will not give them R12500 or any increase for that matter. The company cannot afford the increases. Besides, giving in to AMCU demands means other workers from NUM/Solidarity will demand increases. Then it will cascade to Implats and Amplats employees.

They just mining for jobs and taking advantage of the situation.
A friend of mine got hijacked on the R556 road to Suncity that goes past the Marikana area. A lot of criminals are taking advantage of the situation and it will be blamed on the “strike”.

Don't think so. They'll send someone to make a speech about the struggle, hand out a few t-shirts, and everything will go back to normal. Perhaps companies could learn a thing or two from the ANC about how to deal with retards.

Why do they want the shaft to close?
Rustenburg - Striking workers at Lonmin's Marikana mine, in the North West, on Wednesday rejected the notion of a peace pact until their demands were met.
"We don't want to hear anything about a peace accord. We want R12 500 and the closing down of that shaft," worker representative Xolani Nzuza told the miners after talks with management.
He was addressing them in a field opposite the mine after the protesters returned from a march to the company's mine in Karee.
Nzuza said until Lonmin closed the K3 shaft, where most of the mine's operations took place, they would not leave. The protesters were told to go home for a few hours and gather in the field later on Wednesday night.

They are probably jealous of the workers who are not supporting the strike. The K3 shaft is the busiest and contributes 30% of underground production. The reserves of the mine contribute 50% to Lonmin’s total reserves.
The issue at Marikana is so sensitive even here at Anglo, things are delicate. Last thing platinum SA needs at this time is a strike.
