Look & Listen shuts online store

No surprise there. There were too many complaints about the service.
 
I've never been inspired to purchase from their online store, their pricing was pretty average and they would seldom be my first port of call, I also don't think the marketing of the online option was that great
 
I still have a order outstanding from their store on bidorbuy.
 
maybe they got into trouble with publishers or didn't pay accounts on type or didn't have a monitoring software to allow publishers to track down how many downloads etc. Why would you shut down an e-commerce store there is more to the story or they closing down for revamp or too much competition out there Simply(whatever it is called).

Because their service was kuk and they couldn't actually fulfill the orders.
 
What happened to Look & Listen in Canal Walk? We were there a few weeks back and I was confused as to where I was because I never saw the shop there.
 
Looking at overseas trends, any "High Street" retailer that is not online is on a hiding to closure.
 
No surprises tbh, their online store was crap of the highest order.

I thought the same when I visited that huge CD Warehouse at the V&A again... just gone.

edit: although that market that replaced them was pretty awesome... Free Sample Heaven :p
 
On price and service they couldnt touch the likes of Kalahari.com and Takealot.

Yep unfortunate but true... I don't see the brand lasting much longer.
 
All these big music stores like Musica and Look and Listen are all going to be out of business in a few years time. The writings on the wall, just look at what happened to HMV in the UK. I bet you no-one 10 years ago would have ever said that HMV would be closing down in a few years time.
 
I hope they don't try pin this on the current economic climate. Their service was nonexistent. They brought their own demise upon themselves.
 
Adapt or die. Gone are the days of dictating to customers in this market. That's reserved for telecoms...
 
Why would a brick and mortar music shop go out of business, what are they doing wrong or what has changed in the music market that would make them fail? I loved the days of vinyl records when I could go into all the music shops looking for my favourite bands.
 
Spoke to a friend who is quite involved with designing of the movies and music of the website. According to him it's because of itunes opening up more options in SA.
