Looking For a program with desktop alerts?

Hi

I am looking for a program which could possibly do the following:
*We need to capture a list of equipment into the system
*The equipment then needs to be booked out to various clients in the different provinces
*Eg, the equipment (lets say screen) needs to be returned to us within 5 days and then "booked back in" on the system. If the "screen" is not back at the end of the 5th day, the program needs to "popup" and alert us that there is equipment outstanding, and that popup must keep returning until the equipment is booked back into the system

If anyone has perhaps heard of such a program, please kindly let me know

I have not heard of anything specifically like that. However I do know of software that can interrogate on a SQL database. It looks at information like you have described and would send an email to a pre-determined address.

I will go have a look for you though and let you know what I find.

Tim here again. I have done a little bit of searching for you and come up with the following
Redbeam has software for inventory management with the ability to pull reports on overdue items. Details here No indication though if it will put a pop up on the screen but it is a start.
Equipment Tool organiser from Primasoft does the same thing. It looks pretty easy to use. Details here.
If you are into Microsoft and prepared to do a bit of modifying then this one whihc is a template from Microsoft may enable you to build what you want. The link to download it is here.
Tigerseye from datacom does have overdue reports details here

If non of the commercial applications don't work out I would use the Microsoft one as a basis and do some VB around it to do the alerting on overdue items.
