Hey trying to build an old PC up again and found out I don't have the correct PSU. Mine only fits Intel boards, any idea what I can do>??

How old is the pc? Also what form is it ATX?

The PC is AMD 3800+ about +-3 years old now. The board to be exact is

ATX
S Series
Support AMD Socket AM2
GA-M51GM-S2G

I hope that helps

I thought all the ATX PSU's were the same (or had the same 20/24 pin power connectors) - is it an old AT PSU, the one with 2 white similar-looking power plugs for the motherboard?

I also thought they were standard:confused:

Please look at the image above

Just saw the pic - it's definately ATX - any PSU should fit, as long as it has the 24-pin power and 4-pin aux power connectors.

Does you PSU power connector only have 20 pins?

Yip looking at it, it only has 20-pins:(

Well almost all the psu out there are ATX so should fit.

What does not fit? So unless you have a really really old PSU it should work...

Well the PSU is a 20-pin that used to belong to a 2.6ghz celeron board

Just cut the extra 4pins on the right off. If there is nothing in the way on the right a 24pin will fit fine, done it before.

 Thank you for the idea as CrzWaco already put it, I need it the other way roung;)

You can plug a 20 pin into a 24 pin socket, I've run many PCs like that, 24pin would be better but the PC will still work 100%.
