Looking for IP CCTV solution

If I were to buy 1 IP Camera and eventually stream the data to a TV or any other device within my local network, would this congested local network affect my non-local download speeds?

Camikaze, it would depend on how your network is setup but if you buy a NVR suggested above, then the camera's will not be congesting your normal lan and you can easily use a normal switch\router with a cable between NVR and your pc at gigabit speeds.

Highly unlikely unless you have a very badly set up network.
