Hi all,
I am currently looking for IP Phones at good prices. Brand new or second hand.
I'm not fussy and will take Yealink T20/T21/T22 or Snom 300, etc.
Basically entry level phones. A point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ColinR but Scoop has only Fanvil and very few in stock (durban). I don't particularly like Fanvil, especially since they are not POE and you will have to purchase the PSU separately. I have dealership with them and I have purchased Gigaset Dect phones previously at just over 1k including VAT. I Am looking for desktop phones, preferably POE capable, either second hand or brand new. Thanks.

How many are you looking for? It might make sense to start looking in different avenues depending on how many you need.

Check with miro, they should have plenty of the grandstream units.

The reason Fanvil sell with no PSU is they are poe enabled. Speak to a better sales person at the branch.

- x2 SIP Lines
- HD Voice
- User Friendly Graphical Menu with Help description
- POE Enabled (X3P)
- Handset (HS) / Hands-free (HF) / Headphone (HP) mode
- Desktop / Wall-mount installation
- External Power Supply (X3)

 I don't see your logic. Yealink and Snom also have their POE models BUT they still come with PSU.
I can see you guys are ambassadors of Scoop:p. How can you say "Speak to better salesman"???
The problem with Scoop Durban is that they don't always have quantities on hand and they don't always know what they have or don't have. Besides after buying the entry level Fanvil and the PSU seperately it will cost me around the same price as a good Siemens Gigaset.
If you look at their website, they list the stock available only in JHB and CPT.....nothing for Durban.

You state you want PoE models, but then you factor in the PSU price? All I was trying to point out was that they are PoE capable, where you mistakenly said they were not.

Agreed if you need a PSU, buy something else as bundling with the PSU becomes expensive. In an office environment I would not deploy phones that were not on PoE as the first power failure everybody gets a surprise when the phones dont work.

Sorry for my mistake BUT I'm glad you now get my point.
With regards to your last sentence:Doesn't the POE a Switch also require electricity to work? Won't they be equally surprised at your work?
IMO buying an expensive (can't get less than 8 port) POE Switch for use with only 3 phones doesn't make sense and spoils the quote.

Lets forget about the phones you will deploy for a minute. Yes the PoE switch requires a UPS, but my install would be PBX, PoE switch and dedicated UPS for just these two items. So you do not have to rely on the user to maintain their own UPS for the phone. When the UPS dies so does the PBX and all phones so there is no confusion.

Even my house is sort of the same. UPS in the cabinet which powers the Gigaset base and 1 VoIP phone (from a PoE switch) plus all other items in the cabinet. No PBX present.

:sick:GobSmaKed BUT Any....way
How much did you pay for you POE switch ? (Which handles all your 2 phones)

Its an 8 port Tough switch which powers my 3 UniFi AP's and one UniFi VoIP phone.

Everybody is different and for me a PSU is redundant as I have never used one on a phone.

I respect your difference and thanks for the input Nondeplum. I'm Waiting on Steve to come back to me on 50 Snom 300's.
Will let you know how it goes.
