OK, so sorry or the double post, but every time somebody asks me for a job I tell them that I will post here when I'm looking. I'm looking, and posted as promised but had very few responses....

So looking for somebody who wants to enter the IT market (in JHB) - the only requirement is that they must have a car, and they must really want to learn.

No experience, training or skills are required (although a geek will get first preference :)). We are looking for somebody who can:

1. Run the daily operations of our soon to be acquired online store, deal with couriers, collect stock, answer queries etc. (50% time)

2. Work at our customer sites (ranging 5 - 2000 users) as a junior desktop tech. (25% time)

3. Work shadow and learn, learn, learn, learn, so that they may either move into a dedicated sales, or technical consultant position and hand over to another trainee.... (25% time)

I am surprised that more people have not taken me up on this offer - I thought there would be lots more guys looking for an opportunity. Oh well....

Problem is that this job is really dependant on a person getting out there and learning; and of course doing stuff that I just simply do not have time to do. It is a pity because you guys are EXACTLY the type of people that I would really like to give the opportunity to. Will have to see if we can work around the car part....

Can you give us a ruff estimate of how much you are considering to offer a potential employee? e.g. 3k-15k depending om experience.

Virtual Shop ;) Seriously though, it's a fantastic opportunity and would integrate well, if not directly, with our current ventures....

To answer some questions:

The type of work that you will be doing was briefly outlined out in the OP. To expand on the OP, we are looking to mentor and groom the candidate from an apprentice role i.e. required to do everything while getting practical experience, to become a skilled IT professional, specialising in either sales, technical presales, or technical consulting; with a focus on Virtualisation e.g. Citrix etc.

The pay is difficult to determine. A person who is currently working in a non-IT field will want more money, i.e. they have working experience but are still green-IT. It really will depend on the candidate. Sorry :(
