Hi, guys new here. I was wondering if any one could help me with choosing a Wisp, in Grassy park area. I have visited a few sites and with a few of them im just outside their coverage.

I'm looking at replacing my horrible ADSL with a WISP. Lansdowne/Crawford area. Amobia still hasn't contacted me since I got their estimate on the 19th :(

Was thinking of going with them but i've heard of people having problems with them

My line quality is so degraded that I'm at that point where I'll try anything... been suffering for over a year now. The telkom techie told me the problem lies somewhere where the line runs underground (we have mostly above ground phone lines) & they're not going to dig for just one person.

I was going to get a telkom like but after a lot of reading i decided not to and rather with a Wisp

Not sure if they do your area but I am with ISPAfrika and have brilliant service which is very stable and decent pricing

Thanks guys for all your suggestions & recommendations. Sonic telecoms came out yesterday to do the LOS test & I'm getting 70-75% signal strength with a 9ms ping to their tower in Newlands. Just waiting on their quote for installation (minus their router)

We would not sign a customer up with anything less than 90% signal strength and no more than 3ms to the tower.

Just saying...

That would be awesome, but you guys don't have any coverage in the southern suburbs...
