Looking to buy, need pointers

Having a problem with this industry, the bank says "apply directly for finance with us and we'll give you a better rate...dealerships will include commission in the rate". The dealership say "we have our own finance admin who deals with the banks and the rate we give you is the same you will get if you go directly to the bank". I tend to believe the bank but the dealership will go as far as insisting that you do another finance application with them and refusing to give you the quote which the bank needs to give you the rate directly. However it's true that the process tends to run quicker when it's the dealership handling the application, but at the end of the day one wants the best rate.

Wow congrats! I presume it's the 1.9 diesel? I like the low mileage. :)

Yeah it is.

Thanks.. Just drove it back. Its nice!

Still has 9 months of plan left. I know the car's history is good. Lady owner. FSH and I took it for the Dekra technical inspection where they run it on a dynamo and the lot and all checked out.

Good luck with yours! Buying a second hand car is exhausting!

Great, I like that you did your homework and took precautions like the test. I'm also hoping to get a year or so plan still on the car. Enjoy!

Buying any car is fairly straight forward if you know what you want. Longest I took was my last one, could not decide between keeping the old one or buying new.
Made a post here and got sorted out fast, still thankful about that.

With regards to used Audis. Had a cambelt change at 120000km on an '04 A6 which cost just over 20k in 2012. CV joints done in 2010/11 with under 100000km for 17k. Car was bought in 2008 with 63000km...

Servicing an Audi should be done at an independent mechanic - I learnt the hard way

If you want it to last why not opt for a Corolla Professional/Advanced ?
I nearly bought a 08/09 Lexus IS250 SE with Toyota reliability in mind but I was spooked by the fuel consumption and abandoned the deal.

I had a tough time.. I'm really picky. After having a few cars inspected I got spooked by the findings. All of this costing me many Rs. It took me WEEKS to find one that was just right.. But my pain wasn't over yet. The seller then made my life difficult.. but in the end. I succeeded. PHEW.
