Loot Delivery Times

Can I take Loot to Small Claims Court?

I haven't heard from them over a month on an item they took back. They don't respond to my emails.

You could but it is not worth the effort for a smallish amount. Did you mail [email protected] ? They responded to my return in 24hours?

Has anyone been having issues recently with Loot deliveries?
I ordered fragrance from Loot that was showing as "In stock. We should be able to ship within 24 hours" a week ago and the order is still showing as "being packed".

Ordered 3 items on 12th July. The initial delivery was 15th, then 19th and then 22nd. No sign of goods

One item is for my neighbour. She got fed up, placed an order on Takealot on Friday and it was ready for collection on Saturday

Two of the items were computer cables. Also got fed up and got them at Communica

Loot did not respond to my request to cancel and refund the order, apart from an auto-response email. Sent the email to info@loot and returns@loot

Ordered a book 5th July …. Still waiting .

On Friday it was apparently handed over to Pargo , so as far as loot is concerned their job is done . Pargo site tracking , last update is Friday afternoon . Silly me for thinking that couriers work 7 days a week.

This is not my first order from loot , but every one is just a pain.

If U have options , I suggest you choose any other but loot .

And yes I know there were riots and stuff but …. 20 days for a book which I later found out they were buying from a publisher not even 30km from me. Could have walked there to collect it

Ordered with them recently because takealot resellers were a ripoff. Got my stuff lucky.

Every time I've ordered a book since May (these books are imported from overseas) there has always been a 1 - 2 week delay which is frustrating as the expected delivery date is usually 2-3 weeks after the order anyhow. But don't have many alternatives - most local book retailers don't import and the ones who do usually have rip-off prices. Yes, I like my books in physical form.

Agree. Reading Asterix online doesn't work for me.

How is Loot these days regarding delivery?

I have some books I want to purchase and the only local option is Loot.co.za

The delivery times are listed as 'ships within 12-17 working days' (that's the longest one).

Loot is cheaper than Amazon.com by R300 in total (R1900 vs R2200).

Is it worth it? I don't want to wait months and months to receive anything.

Loot is nice, but some things can take a while. 12-17 working days sounds to me like it might be on backorder or something like that. That being said, I never had issues with Loot.

I have a feeling most of their books are ordered from overseas on demand.

Yeah, they used to have far more titles that were "in stock", but in the last year and a half they don't seem to have many titles in stock. Most are ordered from the US/UK as far as I can determine. With those long lead times you might be able to source from Amazon quicker. One thing I can commend Loot on is that they still take care when packaging your books. Takealot chucks them in a box and hopes for the best. With Amazon you could also a possibly damaged book.

On other stuff loot has normally delivered within 3-4 days (outlying area) after ordering in stock items. A year or so ago I did order books with a long lead time which then got extended with a week due to a delay in the chain.
