Same here, disconnections every 5 sec. I've pm'ed Armando yesterday regarding this issue, but no response from him.
Really bad.

Durban, same issue.

Connects, showing 0.27KB under "Data Received" for about 10 seconds, then disconnects. Do this over about ten times and eventually you'll get one that'll stay connected... for about 5 - 20 min, then disconnects and you have to go through the multiple 0.27KB attempts all over again.

Speeds this last weekend was terrible with a lot of disconnects or websites not found.

Is this going to get sorted out?

Bought one yesterday or got it for my birthday. CMF190 stick. No problems I must say. Speed not up there what expected but it seem to improve. Just the browsing and loading a web page is a bit delayed for some reason otherwise can't complain.

The connection to pingtest.net was interrupted.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this web page later.
Check your Internet connection. Reboot any routers, modems or other network devices that you may be using.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted programme in your firewall or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted programme, try deleting it from the list of permitted programmes and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure that the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the spanner menu > Options > Under the Bonnet > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.
Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.

The server at mybroadband.co.za can't be found because the DNS look-up failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.

14443 keeps dropping my connection. Was connected (miraculously) to 14441, and remained connected for hours without a hitch. Guess my constant DC headaches are down to the tower?

I got a reply from an on-line complaint to CellC to the effect that the tower servicing my house and business was providing intermittent signals, and they are very sorry, but nothing can be done about it. I was amazed at this reply, which totally contradicts what the CellC sales lady told us when she came around to the shop to try and sell us 20 x 3G modems. Just shows that they will tell you any bull**** to make a sale.

14443 is giving me crap again. Fine for about 1.5hrs last night, then started disconnecting randomly - anywhere between 5 seconds and 5 minutes. Address this ASAP please.

This is a cut & paste from a series of PM's to Cell_C:

Unable to connect at all, either directly from device or when phone is tethered. I'm IT literate and have been using this method of internet access for 5 years, usually with Vodacom but only the last few months with Cell C because of the great data rates. Access in this area still works fine with my Vodacom SIM in both handsets so I suspect Cell C SIM problem or tower problem. Please advise, thanks.

Update::Seems I can connect now, using the handset, from my office in xxxxx. I checked when I got back to the farm (about 10km from xxxxxx along the N2, toward Cape Town) and am still unable to connect either from the handset or tethered. I am however able to connect using a Vodacom SIM in the same handset.
The tower that I connect to from the farm is, I believe, known as xxxxx.

After buying another SIM for testing, I've established that it is a tower/inter-connect problem at one location. Up until last week Wednesday I've been connecting without issue at all. Seems Cell C is roaming on Vodacom on this tower and the two are not communicating.

I notice a few other members are having 'roaming' issues and appreciate that it can take a while to resolve. I do however feel that six days without any time frame for resolution is pushing it a bit...

Update 24 November: Still no connectivity from my house. I was promised some action within 7 days of my original complaint (7 days because of the apparent complexity regarding the Cell C/Vodacom roaming story. It's now 8 days later, all I've had from the help desk is a statement that 'it's being investigated' and that I should expect a response from them with 72 hours. That's another three days.

Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but I believe a total data outage for 10 days minimum is unacceptable.

True or False

Good Day Gents,

Got a bit of inside info, I would like for Cell C to clarify this.

We had Huge Telecommunications at our offices to restructure our telephone systems, had a chat to the TECH chap on site with regards to Cell C and he had the following to say.

Siemens Nokia have been managing and working the hardware on the base stations around the country since 2001 Cell C have decided to get rid of Siemens Nokia due to the high costs.

They now have acquired the services of ZTE/ Huawei company to manage the infrastructure of the networks and change all the hardware at the individual base stations, hence lately we the customers have been receiving shocking network service around the country as the base stations are been converted to an inferior network structure.Gents, let this be a warning it is going to get worse!

Having chatted to this gent all the issues I have been having over the last month or so now all of a sudden make sense. The whoosh of Cell C is going boom boom very slowly.

It is amazing how something like this is not passed on to the customers, keep the customer informed!!!!

Cell C if the above is true you are going backwards for example, this message was posted using the Vodacom 3G service, why because Cell C is down!

LARS please come back at least you knew what the hell was going on!

I'm having major latency and disconnect issues in Broadacres since friday.

Anyone else having issues? The same is happening with Vodacom.
