After many calls and bouts of shouting at my local Cell C store, they finally sent out an engineer to my house. Within 30 seconds, he confirmed the issue (excellent signal strength, unuseable data throughput) and said "I will keep the ticket open". Then off he went. That was over a week ago and my problems persist.

My Cell C 3G data service has now been unuseable for almost 8 weeks. I have honestly never had service this bad in my life. I mean, I am paying per month for data and have had zero data for 8 weeks!

am done with Cell C. So done, I am porting my number today with out any delay. Tired of messing around with my settings to get the best possible data connection for internet. I am in 2013 not 1981

I returned my SIM to Cell C yesterday and am waiting for "head office" to refund me.

I hate to say it, but the staff in the Cell C store near me are rude, apathetic, totally uninformed and generally incompetent. 8 weeks without any data throughput of any kind (including an engineer's visit which provided unequivocal confirmation of the issue we are all experiencing) and they did not even apologize. I have never been treated this badly in my 36 years on this planet!!

Vodacom 3G roaming

I've posted this on another thread too and am trying to find out if this is a regional abilty?

Been having full Cell C 3G signal since I ported from Vodacom last October. Have had throughput issues since I ported. 4 x tickets still open with technical desk since Nov '12. 5 Months and still not resolved

Strangest thing happened - at Sun City at the moment and am on 3G roaming on Vodacom with my iPhone 5 - manually network locked to Vodacom and APN set to 'internet'

Works great with good speed - 5mbps+

Wonder if I can roam on Vodacom 3G in Jo'burg too on an iPhone 5?

I there any indication of when Cell C is going to enter the mobile market?

I have their fully loaded SIM but hardly ever any service. I guess they are a virtual service only?

It's the norm. Cell C was good, but they have grown too big and aren't able to upgrade their network anymore.

I was billed each month for 6 months after my contract was cancelled.
It was always interesting trying to get the call centre staff to understand because they always said the same thing "but you dont have a contract with us" and yet they still saw fit to bill me.
That was 4 years ago, but I still wont go back.

I was billed each month for 6 months after my contract was cancelled.

I never pay attention to my credit card statement and noticed that CELL C were billing me for over 3 years when I decided to sit down and take notice wasn't much R50 but did forfeit on minutes etc. Decided to drive to one of their head office/customer service branch in person to hand them over a cancellation document cos I wanted proof of receipt that way they actually cancel the contract. 6 months went by without any cancellation whatsoever --- then really got ticked off and spoke to someone high up at CELL C. I was credited all monies - didn't leave until I had documentation in black and white stating it has been cancelled.

Now days the procedure to cancel isn't as complex as it was back in the days... Now days you phone (they record you) and your contract is cancelled.

Cell C make a plan my girlfriend is still being screwed by you #((#-___;: Mira IS STILL STEALING HER MONEY YA C*NTS.

My contract just changed to prepaid. The gig of data and 100 minutes I had left over just vanished. Nice.

Well Cell C advertised my phone as the LTE version. I was sold the cheaper 3G version and have been fighting with Cell C ever since. I want the LTE version. I specifically went with Cell C (yes they didnt offer an LTE Network at the time) because they had the best deal for the LTE phone.

And their staff at almost every branch seem to believe that if a phone is LTE capable, then it wont work on their network. Yes thats right, I was told that an LTE capable phone wont work with 3G, EDGE or GPRS on Cell C's network, just because the phone is capable of LTE.
