Cell C is in MELTDOWN ! As per my Hello Peter that did not even get response ......

3 Jan I received the following SMS

Pls be advised that yr acc is in arrears by 613.96. Yr services will b suspended if payment isn’t received in 2 days. Cell C 4yrself.
Moments after I get the following

Please fax proof of payment to 08414329, and then call 140 to have your services reactivated. Cell 4yrself

Dear Customer, Pls ignore previous SMS regarding payment and yr service being suspended. We have moved onto a new online system for the submission of
Credit card payments between the 5th and 10th of Jan. Yr payment profile will also be updated with the bureaus.

So off course I ignored the messages and assumed I am not in arrears and you will deduct the money from my credit card.

The next I get is an SMS stating that my account, my handset and I will be blacklisted.

So I call up and hear they want to ‘confirm’ my credit card details. (Today I hear they lost all their credit card details.)

I repeated credit card details, it failed (there is NOTHING wrong with the card or account)
They tried it again and it failed.
I gave my Cheque Card -It worked, I'm still blacklisted

I was NOT contacted and this is NOT sorted out. It's official I am cancelling all CellC contracts and will never deal with them ever again ! Take that TREVOR !
 
I tried emailing them today. Called first, got put through to technical support & was put on hold for at least half an hour. The only reason the torturous wait ended was because I gave up. I'm hoping my email has better luck...
 
I can't download the whole day I just lost about a gig of data or so today, &*$& it. It downloads like at like 100kbs and then it just shoots all the way down to 19 kbs, fluctuates randomly and eventually disconnects after about 30min or so, sometimes an hour and a bit. The worse thing is that it's always on wmca or hsdpa....... ^%& I hate this cell c, so much damn aggravation I never had these issues with vodascum.
 
Since I started using my 5GB dongle I have never gone beyond 3Mb/s and now I am at ~ 100 Kb/s and I am stuck on Edge. I am at Albertville, Johannesburg. Cell C do something!
 
weird - was my post about somerset west deleted ? or did it just not go through last night o_O

And I am still waiting for your call regarding the testing of the signal. Empty N, Vodascum and now Sell C are the same, no regard for customers

Kingsway, Benoni. Area is still poorly coverd by 3G 1 site in area is live but 4 to 5 new sites are due to go live soon .No acurate date is availble....
 
Has anyone had feedback on the cell c connectivity issue that has been ongoing since yesterday?

I just phoned them but the call center staff are very aggressive and reluctant to help. Apparently they are upgrading to 42Mbps and that seems to be the problem for the downtime.
 
So far my experience with CellC is a farce. THey waste more of my time than anything else.

I am happy to take my R3k back and give them the speedstick, please, CellC, just dont waste my time.
 
The above just confirms that pre-paid is the way to go... no automation will save how horrible the customer experience is when dealing with new processes on these networks.
 
Huge signal but still no packets

I'm becoming highly frustrated with my CellC data service. I live in an area where there is plenty signal yet my connection is still poor.

The software (that came with the black speedstick) says HSPA+ yet my overall speed will say 0.0KB/s (i'm using DU Meter) or at best it will hover around under 10KB/s. Every couple of hours I enjoy a few minutes of high speed internet but otherwise every website loads slowly or times out, and skype text chats are painful. Also, the connection drops every few hours.

Why is this happening? I expected unshaped and fast internet.

Best thing the helpdesk could suggest was to try connect from a different location.
 
It would appear our cousins in the interior have generally faster speeds. All the problems in CPT and Durban.
 
I'm going to post neutral and factually on both ;)

I've had issues with my Cell C - and have for the past 7 days - but 85% of the time its great.

I've had Vodacom and for most of last year it was horrible to use ... Though I think this year is better and on occasion, been pretty quick.

The main thing is the money : Since sign up, I've used 25GB at roughly R1,000.00 - and on Vodacom I'd have paid R4,500.00+ for the same data.
 
Same here ... Finally after lots of pleading cna gave me a refund. Guess its vodacom or back to telkom
 
I have, where I live near Wanderers in Johannesburg :
1) No VC 3G
2) No MTN 3G
3) Unreliable Telkom ADSL
4) Cell C HSPA+, sometimes unreliable and frustrating, but still a godsend when Telkom ADSL is down.
