Lottostar

A response from Lottostar.co.za

Hi all, we’ve noticed a few misconceptions about Lottostar.co.za and have decided to clear the air. We certainly hope the following helps.

Lottostar is South Africa’s premiere online lotto-betting service. It lets you bet on the outcomes of real international lottery draws, namely the EuroMillions, SuperEnaLotto and Spanish Lotto. You do not purchase those lottery tickets online from South Africa (an illegal practice). We are registered with the Mpumalanga Gambling Board. The board also audits operations to ensure that the Lottostar remains compliant with the terms of its license and the law.

How much and how frequently you win depends entirely on your choice of numbers combined with how often you play. As soon as the international results are live, we update them on our website. Therefore, we don’t have any influence on the outcomes of the games or your selection of numbers.

The massive jackpot winnings are all insured, so your payouts are guaranteed. For the mega lottery games mentioned above, maximum payouts per bet range from R75 million to R160 million. Bets start from R3.50.

That’s what we do. We do not purchase lottery tickets overseas, electronically or otherwise. We pay directly into your South African bank account if you win and are FICA registered with us.

We’ve posted a few updates about our big winners. You can view them here:

Hi Lottostar,

Who take the balance of the big international winnings.
Your totals are far below the euro, pound and dollar amounts that can be won over there?

Stop with the tricky questions now.....:D

Didn't you read? You aren't actually playing those lotteries, you're betting on the outcome of the number draw.

That text seems a bit misleading though.

If I get all the numbers correct in 1 single line of play, do I or don't I win 160 million if that's the bet I chose? If so, doesn't sound like LottoStar makes a lot of money themselves. Where's the catch?

If you bet money on a horse, do you win the horse or the amount of money the horse's win pays out?

If you think they're not making money, using my analogy, just ask Horse Chestnut... well if you can speak horse

This is how betting works. R4.50 is nothing to you, but if a million people bet and nobody is correct then LottoStar made R4.5 million for that day.

Makes sense?

Lol. Thanks for the "articulate" explanation. I think we all get the betting part.

LOL, I was really just trying to point out how incredibly small the odds of you and I are of winning R160 million :)

They make much more than they're actually paying out.

Yeah true.

But you never know. Still more worthwhile than our rigged lottery.

Hi Ho3n3r,

If you get all the numbers correct, then you win the jackpot payout. All of our jackpot payouts are insured, so you'll always receive your payouts.

There's absolutely no catch :)

If anyone hass won any large amounts, please share yur stories.

Yeah I think this site is a scam... with your first play, you might get a winning, of about R10 -R15... this is given to you as a confidence boost to keep you playing there after you will probably win something again. I suspect after deposoting enough money after a ceratin time you would win a bit of cash... So if you deposit R250+ you might win R50 - R100, but you will never win more then you have deposited into this sites account...

I have won between R500 and R1000 on 4 or 5 occasions now.
All with deposits or credits below R50.

I just started playing, I deposited R150 and so far have won more then R300 in small amounts I keep on playing with those small amounts hoping to win something big.

Which one are you playing? I'm thinking about giving it a bash :p

I have registered in the early days to have a go at their lotto. Now they call me again, again and again to make promotional deposits, blocking the numbers. I wish that one could unsubscribe.
