Howdy guys ,just a little question concerning loudspeakers.

If a 2-way speaker consisting of a midrange driver and a tweeter of 60 Watts RMS each. What will the power rating be for the complete boxed unit???

In other words ,will the manufacturer state it as 120 Watt RMS or 60 Watt RMS.

What will be displayed on the back panel of the loudspeaker enclosure???
For instance : Power handling : ??? Watts (RMS)
Impedance : 8 Ohm.

Anyone knows?

It is 60Watts RMS as each individual driver cannot handle more than 60Watts RMS.

But will the unit not produce (output) 120 watt RMS in total and hence the spec should be 120 Watt RMS on the back panel? Won't the amp have to drive both at 120 watt RMS in total?

No, the speaker will still only output 60Watts in total IIRC. The amp wouldnt need to drive both at 120Watts. 60 Watts each. Sound engineering was a long time ago for me now so apologies if I am wrong but I am quite sure the output is 60Watts RMS.

60watt. The tweeter may be rated at 60Watt, (ie can handel 60watt on the input of the crossover circuit / resistor if it's a pizzo job) but probably isn't 60watt per say.

The amp will only need to pump 60watt max - it's the frequency that's getting split - you not driving to independant speakers (else it would effect your impedance) etc.
