RichardG's thread inspired me to share this:

the joys of love! Well, basically, I just wanted to share with you guys out there that real love on the internet really does happen. But a lot of times, it also doesn't work out...

I met The_Librarian in Aug 1999 on a forum (chit-chat). We enjoyed talking to each other thoroughly and decided to meet. He bought me a bus ticket to pta, and then whisked me off to the low veld.

Sadly to say, I cannot remember anything of that trip, as I slept the whole way :o was tired from the overnight bus trip.

The weekend together was bliss. We just couldn't get enough of each others company. Every time he took my had, my heart beat faster. The whole roller coaster feeling of being in love.... Nothing could dampen our feelings. (And no, we didn't have sex, waited till after we got married.) He took me sight seeing, and all those memories are still so fresh in my mind. And he also bought me my very first cellphone as a gift, so we could be more in contact with each other.

I cried (and he too) when I left on the bus to go back home. Two months later, he drove down to PE in his car to spend xmas with me. And he met my family. My mom, especially, was very impressed with him, and couldn't stop telling everybody about "her wonderful new boyfriend".

It was very difficult being so far apart from each other. We sent countless amounts of sms's to each other. And chatted every oppurtunity we could (which was basically every night). His telephone bill was over R2000pm.

So I asked him if it would not be better if I moved to be closer to him. He helped look for a job for me. April I moved, and it was wonderful being so close to each other....going sight seeing. Sometimes going on an official date to a restaurant, or movie. But the time we just spent in nature, admiring the beauty, was much nicer.

:o Can't remember when he proposed though, but we got married 30 Sep 2000. We are still happily married.

Yes, some may say we were rushing it. But we never experienced it as such. He still makes me heart race, and the blood irush through my veins.

If anything ever had to happen to him, I would cry my heart out.

so yes, good things come with time, but sometimes they also happen fast.

/has emo moment

Tis good to hear an old school love story once in a while :D

RichardG's is the man. but he must get laid first...

/me got a bit emo after reading that (had to find a tissue) ... but yes, I do love her a lot :D

My golden rule is to forgive and forget. It is not worthwhile to dig the skeletons out of the closet every time - let them be.

That was a wonderful time, and I would love it to be back in the Lowveld with her, without any financial worries :)

*sigh*

Love is a wonderful feeling, makes you feel on top of the world, even though the bossly unit ***ked you out big-time :D

Great story HC. Seems many here could learn a lesson or two from you and Libs :)

If voicy is a female then merc give it a shot man :), golden shower is something you have to try once in your life, if voicy is male well then yea not so cool :p

:o we had lots of fun trying

Sounds like The_Librarian had the guts to do what I couldn't. Good on you for that, brother! Making the choice to change your life to allow someone to live with you, especially if they leave their lives behind and rely solely on you, is not easy. That said, not taking the chance would have led to regret because you would never know.

*fetches razorblades and sits in corner*

H_C; please refrain from posting such crud on MyBB... you wasted ±50kb of my bandwidth reading this uslessly disgusting thread... BOO ON U! :D
