Low powered Email/browsing/download machine

I opened up the power plug to give me a blue yellow/green and brown wire. So i just let the clamp meter go around I think the blue and yellow wire. But it either works or not so I think it's accurate. Also my ups is giving me the same results in power usage. But something doesn't seem right cause according to this my pc should be using over 100w idle

I'm not unplugging the drives. i'm just going to switch that pc of when i'm not downloading during the night so that I can then use my gaming pc to play online.

I starting to think against this cause my pc is only using about 30-50w on idle and 299 on load so yes it's using less power than a light bulb. I checked with a amps meter yesterday and like I said about 0.2amps on idle and 1.3amps on load. so my voltage on the ups is 230v so

230x0.2 = 46w max idle
230x1.3 = 299w max playing battlefield 3

so my power usage is already low

also check the power usage on hp proliant microserver

wow, that really seems a bit low...

how are you measuring current? A current meter needs to be on the actual line that's delivering power (series connection). That just seems very low to me as don't each of those 570's have a 200W TDP, the processor is about 80W, so that should be around 500watts, divide by 80% (PSU efficiency), and you have 625 input wattage, or 2.7Amps @230 volts :wtf:

Well to me if 2 sources is telling me the same. and 200w TDP is at 100% load. my gpu is about 50-70% each.

my psu is 80 plus gold. But yes I agree something is not right.

ok so I can confirm that my pc is only using about 80w idle max but a bit lower cause I have switches etc connected to the ups aswell. now with the clamp meter like I said before my pc is using about 65w if I do my math right and I'm no noob at this cause my brother is electrical engineer. from the ups also about 85w as I went to battlefield turne of vsync so that the load on the cards is 98%-100% and then went to another pc with the ups monitoring software on and the load is 23% max

So if the official sticker on the ups telling me 1200w then 1200w * 23% = 276W so not that much at all. How can 2 sorces be wrong. i highly doubt it
