Hi Ladies n Gents,

I moved house this weekend and carried alot of heavy stuff back and forth all weekend, so am thinking that this might be the cause of my problems.

Basically on the lower right hand side of my stomach, i get intermittent pain every now and then. It is not painful, and more of a discomfort than anything else.

I am one of those people who faint at the sight of a doctor and am worrying myself sick here that i will have to go and have my appendix taken out

I am hoping that this little pain is more of a strained muscle or something in my lower abdomen. It started on Saturday and has not got any worse. Just kind of there now and then...

Anyone else experienced something like this before after lifting alot of heavy stuff?

Go to a doctor man. We can all speculate as to whether it's appendix, hernia, etc. but only a doctor can tell you for sure.

I had my appendix taken out - it was bloody sore , luckily it didnt rupture prior to the surgery (can be deadly...)

Im not a medical professional but I would say if someone pokes you in that area and its sore/tender/uncomfortable go to the doc sooner rather than later. It might be nothing but trust me on this one - better safe than sorry.

Good luck and let us know what happened

From what i've heard, you dont need your Appendix, and Doctors seem to diagnose it as Appendix far too easily... Im not putting myself thru an operation unless it is absolutely necessary. I cant even tell you how scared i am of doctors and hospitals n that. Cant explain why, but i am terrified of them... Also seems a little coincidental that it's happened just after i've moved a bunch of heavy stuff all wkend doesn't it?

So you'd rather suffer the pain and the uncertainty of it all then go and see a professional? Suck it up, go and see a doctor by your explanation it sounds like a hernia.

You hope.

It's probably nothing. I had a pain in my stomach over the weekend. First felt like some thing was there. Then there were 3 or 4 episodes of severe shooting pain. Lasted for 3 days and it's gone.

Still got my mine but when I was younger I suffered from a "grumbling appendix" and I can tell you it's damn painful not "more of a discomfort than anything else".

Go see your doctor, I'm guessing it's a side strain.

This morning I had no pain so i skipped the doctor, but at the moment, while typing this the pain came back.. a bit worse than last night. And my left gland is in pain. So im actually starting to worry now

When last did you take a dump? You could just have hard sh*t on board :D

Had exactly the same thing. Picked up heavy machine at the office. Worried about hernia I went to doc and it turned out to be infection in the tube going to my left nut (not sure of medical term) He gave me anti biotics and it cleared up within a few days.
