Lower telecoms prices…..when?

Balh, blah, blah, blah... I am sick and tired of hearing promises of price reductions and cap increases. This has been going on for years now, and what has changed? NOTHING!!! Every year, right here on Mybroadband there are promises of "something going to happen@" either within the next 2 months, 6 months, or whenever. The months roll on and years pass and still we (the consumer) suck on the sagging mammaries of yesteryear's monopolies. Last year, the BIG BREAKING NEWS was Neotel - the new "competition" to Telscum. Competition my ass. What a disapointment. Neotel simply turned out to be yet another wireless operater. We already had several of those thanks. Whaty we need is a FIXED LINE provider, who can offer us low cost, high speed, fixed line DSL connectivity. Then Telscum will have competition.

Does anybody who ever makes any decisions about these things ever read our posts on this site? I tell you - any company with the money and the brains, could get some brilliant marketing input here and if they truly wanted to KILL Telscum once and for all - develop what we want...

Ag. When SEACOM launches it will probably mean that the operators will introduce more complex packages with all sorts of catches. It will look like things have gotten cheaper but in the end we will be paying the same...

I don't want this rollover, that prepaid, this out of bundle rate, those free minutes, surfmore minutes etc. I want to drop R500 a month and get a big cap. That's it. 20c a min in peak for calls to everyone and then an offpeak rate. No confusing plans. I think the author mentioned all the weird plans in his article?
