LTE broadband hamstrung by DoC

Maybe they have a desire to be a leading contender for the title of 'Mamparra of the year' at the MyBB conference?

Is Telkom not largely owned by the government? If it was that would explain the delays, surely Telkom will lose a lot of business to the LTE service.

That would be bad for the Government business :)

I also think DOC is delaying so Telkom can roll out it's VDSL network... and not lose too much market share!

When I read stuff like this it makes me f....... mad at the incompetence of it all. Here's looking at you DOC!!!!

Dinosaurus Pule makes the generally corrupt and toothless Nyanda look good.

The Department of Communications is holding South Africa back when it comes to better mobile broadband services

Just more proof that the ANC is not the right government for a developing country.

Nothing unexpected...

If the DoC or ICASA are involved, it is a disaster.

No real surprise there.

The DOC has historically been the remit of halfwits and idiots to fool about with as they see fit, I suspect as a kind of reward portfolio for politicians who have managed to please the incumbent President of the day.

The only time we had a Minister of modest capability was when Roy Padayachie had his brief tenureship curtailed, either because he showed distressing signs of competence or because Dinah Pule needed to be rewarded for some service to the President.

Frankly, it's a hallmark of this Government (as it was with the Nats, lest anyone think I'm indulging in a little ANC bashing) to show fundamentally strategic departments like Communication and Education absolutely no priority whatsoever.
