So, what's the MyBB community's thoughts on using LTE for gaming?

It depends if you have good throughput and good signal, if there is congestion then forget it.

Used it for 3 years when it was just HSDPA.

It works flawlessly. Think maybe only 3 disconnects in a month back when I was on 3G.

On LTE : No lag; No disconnects (Even t peak). Its perfect as there are no wires. Get LTE.

Using an aerial; even a desktop one helps alot with 3G. With LTE the B593 internal aerial is enough.

3G: Location was Newcastle and also Durban South.
LTE: Pretoria, Capital park and Rietfontein.

Hope this helps.

I'm on telkom LTE and its great. You need good signal though and if i move the modom about 30cm my speed goes from 25MB/s to 5MB/s

Thanks for the feedback, chaps. I'm in Centurion and I checked the map, there is LTE coverage where I am. I was previously on the 3G which was quite fast (sometimes 500 - 600Kbps on Torrent downloads) but on a 10+10. I'm planning on possibly getting a 50+50 or 100+100. Just wanted to get feedback on the latency and performance, especially on PS4. I've heard a lot of good things so I'm thinking of taking the plunge. A Telkom rep called me today and she's coming to do a demo on Thursday.

Ask him if you can keep it for the night to test peak times.

The rep came and demoed it today. It's damn quick, tried MGS online and it ran pretty well. Signing up next month.

LTE is my primary connection for PS4 gaming. Without a doubt it's way more stable than my fixed line. I have a Telkom sim & the B593 router with no external antennas & am getting mostly 3 bars but even on the bad days when i'm on 2 bars gaming remains unaffected and outperforms the fixed line despite. To anyone in an area with coverage I say go for it.

Has anyone tried this to bypass the FUP on the uncapped lte?
It allows you to Ftp psn games to your PC then transfer to ps4.
I haven't tested or used it yet personally as I'm still waiting for my LTE modem :(

Did you ever get a message when performing an Internet connection test on ps4,stating that "the router in use might not support ip packet configuration, and sbut me network features of the ps4 might be restricted.please contact the router manufacturer"

I haven't seen that message on my console. But what I have done is port forward some ports in the router to the console not sure if that had any effect with regards to your kind of issue
