Hi Guys,

I recently got LTE from Telkom. I'm using a Huawei B315s router. I'm an avid COD player and wanted to know how I can get my NAT type open on these COD platforms.

I game from a PS4 and use a Direct LAN cable from my router to the PS4 (I was told it could have a slightly faster connection).

Anybody that can offer some assistance in this regard?

You would have to contact telkom and asked them to activate an unrestricted APN on your sim.

Telkom APN is unrestricted by default on most packages, including prepaid. Perhaps maybe unlimited packages. T&C on unlimited says by example that Web hosting is not allowed. Whatether it is, they always leave open ports typical for gaming. You shouldn't have problems if you setup router for port forwarding or port triggering (whichever is adviced on a particular game). I think COD players will come with help.

A few things to consider for this, as some have mentioned above:

1) are incoming connections supported by the mobile APN name that you're connecting to? To check, I recommend asking the support team at your service provider (Telkom Mobile?). If incoming isn't supported, you can request to be switched to their unrestricted APN.

2) Is UPnP enabled or configured on your router? You'll usually find the setting to enable under NAT or Applications in the router WebUI.

3) Have you configured the NAT/Port Forwarding/Port Redirection/Virtual Servers on your router? Check the COD FAQ/forums for those relevant settings for CoD on PS.

Check those out and it should work from there.

Hey Dean, I just tried your UPnP recommendation and it worked with getting open Nat on Rainbow Six Siege on PS!

I'm on LTE uncapped.

Thank you so much man!

Lekker, well played.

Haven't heard the name Rainbow Six since the late 90s.. Good to hear it's still going strong.

Sorry, I do not know for FLLA.
All I know of Fixed-Line-Look-Alike {FLLA} is that you should not use it.

All my production and testing in za till now had been with prepaid sims Vodacom, MTN and Telkom.

My standard suggestion:
a. Ensure you have a reliable connection to the internet {Reliable defined: ping/ latency is constant over time}
b. Once a. is solved, if you need voice, get VOIP from a good provider.

Hi i also have a huawei b315 and have trouble playing AC unity, it tells me i have a Nat type 3 so i can’t join my friend, ps4 tells me i have nat 2, ive forwarded all the necessary ports enabled DMZ and UPnP for my static ps4 IP address. the package i’m using is unlimited 4G expect between 6-11 at night, an agent from the Ubisoft support group has confirmed i have a double NAT, could someone share some knowledge on this topic and tell me how to go about fixing this and and what exactly is wrong. i also need some help on what should i ask from my ISP to free these ports or fix my NAT type

my ISP is rain and the package is unlimited except for between 6-11 at night, i’m thinking maybe the APN. is restricted because it is cutoff between 6-11

RAIN has strict NAT and until they develop / release an unrestricted APN there is little to no getting round this without a VPN / VPS

how do i create a vpn to open my NAT type
You need another device handle the vpn like router or another pc and route traffic through it.

There no easy way around it :(

I use spare windows windows with internet sharing I share vpn connection to another lan port and plug router in there, then all the the traffic goes over the vpn.
