Hi all

I'm completely fascinated by Lucid Dreaming, and all that comes along with that, Astral Projection, OBE, etc...

I'm wondering if anyone has experience in the subject, easier ways of obtaining such states of being. If you can help share your knowledge, of what works best for you...

I've also discovered such things as Silene Capensis, and Calea Zacatechichi. (The Dream Herb for Vivid and Lucid Dreams)

excerpt: "This legal herb has been used by Mexican shamans for thousands of years. It's also known as The Dream Herb, Calea Z, the Leaf of God and Bitter Grass. You can smoke it, drink it in a tea, or swallow it in capsules to induce highly vivid and meaningful dreams."

I'm wondering if anyone knows where to get the seeds for these plants? Or even teas, capsules, plants, etc.. Or anything of the likes to help induce dream like states, besides for "illegal" methods... There is another mix of plants called Changa that supposidly do that too. I'm keen to try that, any references will be appreciated! :)

There's a forumite here called nogard who specializes in this. PM him.

Because i'm afraid you'll just be mocked otherwise. Leave while you can.

I think lucid dreaming basically just means that you are able to control what happens in your dream.

That part sounds scientific enough.

For one example: http://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/life/human-biology/lucid-dreaming.htm

Note where it is located... It's still a mystery to most, and it has useful application, the power of the mind, that most take for granted... You can use it for problem solving, fun, creation, etc.....

And FYI, one guy from NASA "invented" a method of Lucid Dreaming... :)
Yeah, ok, but then swing out an EEG and we can start talking brainwaves and cognition. Not astral planes, drugs and OBE. That would be a better fit in the Philly section or Off Topic. But yeah, Nogard would be your best bet. He's into his dragons and unicorns and psychics and stuff.

These days there's an App for everything Binaural Beat.

There's a couple of presets to choose from Self Hypnosis, Highest Mental activity,LCD, Astral Projection, Lucid Dreaming.... . I never tried the Lucid dreaming preset . My dream are already too crazy as they are :o

I've used a similar app before.I think it was called iDose. Didn't work for me. Does this one have the "orgasm" function? That was messed up. You suddenly start hearing people moaning :wtf:

There is that aspect, but I've been researching it for quite some time now... And there is much more to it than The Clarity of being with in a dream, and taking control, as if you were awake right now, etc... This is how you get have super powers, and create stories... It's what you want it to be... You can use it to learn skills, better yourself, practice certain things, or just for entertainment.... But a next step you could turn it into Astral Projection, and Out of Body experiences, walk through walls, etc... And much more beyond that...

Hey,

I've had several lucid dreams in the past. I can highly recommend this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Exploring-Wor...id=1344002812&sr=8-1&keywords=stephen+laberge

It's pretty hard work since you need to train yourself in one or more methodologies over a period of time to get results. It's also helpful to keep a dream journal and record them as soon as you can, without interpretation. Then, come back to them at a later stage and interprete them as most of the time they're really f&*%ing weird.

I've had some pretty amazing experiences but I stopped doing it a while back as you can often wake up feeling tired and it started to affect my work. PM if you want to chat about it more.

I love lucid dreams, I don't know how to do it and I rarely have them but they're awesome. Feels like a video game.

Hard work indeed! I was also stuffed in the mornings, but the result was very rewarding! I started the journal a while back, but now I need to start a new one again, I've just made myself a custom mobile app to help me. And so far my testing's going well! :)

And thanks for the tip, but I was fortunate to find a Stephen Laberge book at a side market stall of Facts and Fiction at Rosebank, and it came with a CD, I'm super chuffed, and it was cheap too - the 2nd best part ;)

I am going to give the Binaural Lucid dream thing a go tonight, and I'll let you know how it goes :)

I've had lucid dreams but I do wish that I could have them every night.

It's funny how our minds fool us, even when I try remember the dream it was so obviously a dream but I still didn't notice.

When you notice that's when it starts becoming lucid and all inception like, really awesome.

They say if you try your best to remember your dreams every morning it helps to have lucid dreams more often.

take acid lol

This just distorts your current perseption of reality... Lucid dreaming is whole different world! :) It's drugs without drugs :P In-fact, better!

Take changa, or ayahuasca, and you will see a glimpse of the light...

Uhm no they are also drugs. They contain natural compounds that act as a MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) and they have dimethyltriptamine (http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showwiki.php?title=DMT). Changa is a smokable ayahuasca. Its drugs, no different from cannabis

Yes, but your brain also produces the same chemical, it is apparently released twice in your life, when you're born, and when you die. And so it's apparently also released when you Astral Project, it is produced from your pineal gland. Well MAOI is in anti-depressants, but this combination has medicinal properties, it's more than just a drug. As with cannabis has it's good and bad sides...

Well I still believe the plants help us, and have messages for us... But unfortunately people abuse certain, I would still call them "privelages". Man has just lost it in translation.

Yeah, heroin comes from plants too, cocaine as well and cocaine has good properties hell its the reason we have local anaesthetics.

Spoken like a real addict rofl :P

I'm one of them special cases when it comes to extreme skepticism so I was quite blown away when I did lucid dream.

Now I have to ask, Wtf is astral projection?

The little I read about it makes it sound bs, I don't quite believe in aliens probing people
