Luks / dm-crypt

Anyone know how to get a memory dump to retrieve luks / dm-crypt passphrases?
Have googled & tried various methods & just not working.

The way I unserstand it, the passphrase is not kept in memory. It is hashed and used to (gross oversimplification) unlock a key that's used to unlock the filesystem.
