Only the 925 on MTN has received the update, the 1020 that has received it is the country variant which is most likely the one on Cell C and Telkom

Coming soon means that the update has been approved and is awaiting distribution to the phones

It's normally a week or two before it becomes available from coming soon.
 
Oh nice, so the list is a bit slow on the update since Vodacom 925 still shows Coming Soon.
Meanwhile I see India got the update for 920 and 820 so hopefully we get it soon aswell :D

Edit: Just refreshed again.... it's available for 820(and doing my update now, Vodacom btw) and 920 aswell now :D except MTN :p

The Country variant of Black for 920 downloaded and installed looking good but what happened to the promised ability to attach files to emails other than from the Photos Hub. The stupid Mail Plus app required to do this simple task.
 
Liking the notifications on Glance screen, and the fact that the 820 can also use Nokia Camera now.
And something I have been hoping for since I first got a Windows Phone... friggen closing apps in the multitask menu.
Finally :D (cue Android fanbois)

Edit: I am informed by WPcentral that GDR3 OS and Black update are bundled together. The email attachment issue "May be" incorporated in the 8.1 update in April 2014 we are led to believe. "Ruquemat" might be able shed more light on this.

Got my 1020 yesterday and it was pre-installed (box sealed) :confused:
 
You can imagine my surprise when my MTN 920 notified me that an update wa savaialble on Friday evening!

I'd previously lambasted MTN for the slow rollout of GDR2+Amber, so well done to MTN for making this available so soon.

Phone shipped after Nokia internally finalised the Black update so it was installed at the factory.

The Black update on my 925 has a build date of 2013-12-17
 
I'm a new convert to Windowsphone from Android. It seems MTN are quicker than Vodacom with the Lumia Black update. Is it reasonable to expect that since MTN have their 625 update available, Vodacom should be not far behind? or am I just trying to be optimistic?

MTN is only ahead with the 625 update. They were last to update the other phones. But at-least this time they were a few days behind and not a few weeks.
Also regarding the Vodacom update... doesn't look like its gonna land soon. If you loko at that list in my OP, the Vodacom 625 isn't even listed as Coming Soon :/
 
Thanks. This is when I get tempted to throw the warranty out of the window and look at alternative ROMs
 
Black software updated last week 17/1/2014 for me... :)
Nice, like the notifications on the glance screen, and being able to close apps :)
seems more stable...

I am on Vodacom, but am using a Italian Variant 920 (imported via Orange)
