Luno Support and Queries Thread

How safe will the saving wallet be - it states at terms and conditions that you can loose your btc.....
standard practise for lending products e.g. BlockFi

I mean your BTC is being lent out to institutions who pay it back with interest, if they default on that loan or get margin called or some such you will lose some money

so it becomes a question of how well the risk is managed and how likely a loss is, but it's impossible to avoid risk completely

Why is the transfer fee so high? I'm trying to move a bit of ethereum to SwissBorg but the fee is prohibitive.

Been trying to reset my password but I just keep going round and round in circle.
2FA is just not working. Keeps telling me that I have entered the incorrect OATH code but I have never used ever. I've entered the correct password from Google Authenticator app but it just fails.

How can I go about resetting my password?

wild guess, but when your 2FA code doesn't work it could be this:

tried that. it was already set like that.

anyone else been having issues with the exchange for months now on Chrome... basically it's so unresponsive and you have to try many times just to get an order through. Works fine on my mobile app though

Can anybody comment on Luno + Nedbank

I already have crypto from years ago ... I just want to withdraw a little bit from my Luno to Nedbank.

Is there a limit? will I get in some sort of trouble?

Would it best to withdraw the whole lot in one go ... or just what I need from time to time.

Just to be clear, I don't have millions here ... just a couple of grand.

Nedbank doesn't have any issues with crypto.

I second that. Standard bank even tell you they don't support overseas crypto exchanges for bank transfers.

This is standard bank. Tyme and Capitec have little to no support. Nedbank are tops on the app.

Anyone have an email address for Luno need to contact them with account issues ?

Can you mine directly to a Luno Segwit Wallet? I.E you mine with x or y program and your BTC is sent to Luno using the Segwit Address?

It would be nice if Luno could support more cryptocoins instead of us going to Binance or crypto.com to purchase it, imagine if bitcoin was available earlier when it was priced very low, we would all be millionaires by now.

You are kidding right ?

Bitcoin was available on luno from day one before the entire world started to FOMO into crypto.

Earliest trades on Luno were below R1k(~R582) per BTC so you had ample time to buy on luno and be a virtual millionaire today.

I myself knew nothing about Luno, I tried buying ethereum and bitcoin at a foreign exchange and it was stolen when bitcoin was only 2000 dollars, I bought the 2nd time when I knew about Luno in 2017 and was also very weary about my investment, I now have bitcoin and ripple from Luno, I also own some dogecoin at Binance and hope that Luno start dealing in some other crypto soon.

worth noting Luno use to be called BitX, the brand Luno has only existed since 2017, but the exchange was locally available to buy BTC since 2013 as 'BitX'

If I want to send BTC from Nicehash to Luno, do I use the Segwit wallet or the non Segwit wallet.

Does it even matter?

I use nice hash internal wallet, transfer when there is a few 1000 in nice hash , can specify segwit wallet when withdraw.
Mine works.
