Good Day

As the titles states, is there an adblock Mac OS app for Mac that works. One that when installed browsers use it instead of having browser specific scripts or extensions such as adblock plus to deal with ads - the reason I ask is I want to try and use a browser that is not compatible with adblock plus etc - hence looking for something mac specific as opposed to browser specific.

Its a long shot I know but curious to try it out and see what I can ultimately achieve.

Thanks

Sadly, not specifically an app for that. What you're looking for is an app that blocks all sources of ads before they can be displayed by anything that renders HTML, whereas all plugins for Safari only work for, well, Safari, or Chrome, or so on.

You could try something like Little Snitch, which is a great firewall, and somehow build a massive ruleset that blocks traffic to certain sets of domains and URLS, but that's a pretty big task. You might want to look into the adblock Raspberry Pi solutions out there that functions as ad-removal proxies.

Thanks, I guess I will just stick to using Chrome then. I wanted to migrate and be using Opera Neon which is a very slick cool browser. But the ads are a deal breaker and it does not seem like they are working on that project anymore.

Thanks for the input - appreciated.
