I am beginning to switch back to Windows and I just bought the Asus Zenbook Prime instead of the new Air. Their weak operation system had a great deal to do with this. It is expecially disappointing, considering their excellent iOS software.

The processors on those machines are powerful enough... you will have to upgrade your graphics card though. ML has no support for graphics cards that old. read remarks posted from someone who gave it a bash and he reckons it works fine. First time I've ever heard of hackintoshing a Mac, but if it works, why not.

I saw that. Unless I can find a really compelling reason to get ML, I am simply going to stick with what works for me.

I'm itching to try and build a Hackintosh, so I might give ML a go on one, but finding the right hardware is always a schlep. My Mac Mini will be able to run it, but I'm just not keen on it. Seen it on a friend's Mac and found it very counter0intuitive to the usual Mac way of doing things.
 
i didn't really like the snow leopard to lion move. it just seemed to introduce lag for no tangible gain.

so i will be doing the lion to mountain lion move purely in the hope of better performance. and at $20 it is not a serious hit on the pocket.
