hi all

firstly, big thanks to everyone and all the PM's for helping me find a power cable for my girlfriends G4 iBook. I got one from some random chick in Hout Bay (Cape Town) for R200... bargain of the year! :D Much better than R1400!

I have a software related query now. She has always used www.yahoo.fr/mail going back years! She only tried to get to her email recently, and she is having no luck at all. When ever she clicks on New Message/Contacts it just says loading and does nothing.

I can confirm that its not a connectivity issue, and its not a yahoo issue. I tried using my connection, and at work and Im having no problems at all. Its something to do with the upgrade I did for her, from Panther to Tiger.

I assume its running a different version of Safari now? Could this be related?

I asked her to run update, and it did a Safari update and a Java update. I thought that would do the trick, but it didnt.

I searched online, and there are some peopel saying that they got this issue too, but no concrete fix. One guy said that you much change to Yahoo Classic and that will fix it as its something to do with the Yahoo HTML coding.

Can anyone help?

Sorry for the long post

Have you tried another browser on her machine? Camino, Opera, or Firefox.

You dont have to uninstall it (unless disk space is at a premium) however she can simply move the application into the trash.

Also, did you do an Upgrade or Archive and Install? Upgrading the OS seems to cause problems, Archive and Install is always the best bet for a working OS at the end of the process.

I did an Archive and Install... read on the www that it was the best route!
