Macs are nice simplified pretty looking computers for people who require that from their systems.
I dunno about pretty. Look at WinXP Fishe-Price. Look at Vista.
Not purdy? Flip3D?
None of that cr@p in Mac OS X.
A PC of course will bench press a Mac under the table any day.. but people dont buy a Mac for performance.. they buy it cause it looks pretty and they can understand the OS.
Yeah the Dell Quad Core Xeon 3GHz which actually cost more than the Mac Pro of the same specs, benchpressed the PC. First of all try to get Adobe Premiere or AE to use more than 25% available CPU resources. Secondly try to get them to use more than 1GB of RAM.
Or do you have proof that the Dell running WinXP is faster than a similar spec'ed Mac with Mac OSX?
A Mac is stylish and simplistic and suites its users. Its also over over priced and limited, but again.. people who buy Macs dont care about the price, or dont care about performance.
Stylish - maybe for some simple people, same lot who goo oooh and aaaah over a Fossil Watch or a pair of Levis.
Yeah I don't care about performance and price. Using a PC, with Adobe Premiere Pro and a Matrox RTX Extreme card (plus a 3D GPU card) it would take forever to render stuff or PC would freeze and die. Similar Mac does it
faster and without crashes. Is it worth the money, well actually the Matrox RT Extreme cost R30K (incl Premiere) at the time. The PC itself cost R15K. The Mac Pro cost R30K plus R8K for FCP. Both used 1GB of RAM (at the time).
Wiz is not on the ball. Religion and Macintosh computers are not his forte.
