Mac - virus protection software - do we need it ?

It's extremely rare. Nothing at all like the conficker worm. That thing is scary.

Yeah, a mac botnet is rare. Mac malware less so. Personally while I believe Mac, Linux and MS are all orsm solid platforms, the propriety code (and the time it take them a) to admit there is a flaw b) fix the patch) is a major security issue which they have to learn to improve to get up to linux and other FOSS standards. I notice ubuntu went through that pwn2own contest... bulletproof... this time.

Security is a process, not a product.
